Ebb and Flow

This week has continued to ebb and flow, mixing good and bad.

Tuesday, it seemed like I was cleaning up pee puddles and poop piles off the floor everytime I turned around. I know, what did I expect, getting a new puppy and all? But she's been sooo good! Not only that, I was cranky and suffered from a headache all day (I blame it on the muffin I ate after donating blood, since it had been 2.5 weeks since I had any carbs and sugar).

Yesterday, however was a good day. It started when I logged on and saw MA choose red (or Brown) to fill U.S. Senate seat. Yay, MA. Then I had a relaxing day, despite being called to pick up my daughter from school because she had a headache (side note, she seems to be suffering from chronic headaches, complaining of having them often :( ) Laundry was for once, all washed and dried (I just have one basket to fold before the kids put it away). I cleaned and de-cluttered some junk. And the puppy had one accident yesterday. Unfortunately, that accident happened to be on Moe's backpack :(

Not paying attention, I tossed Moe's backpack into the washer and then dryer. Like I had done so many times in the past. I pulled it out this morning and..... there were holes in it where it looked like the material burned in the dryer. So yeah, I totally ruined her backpack. Which I know I've washed like that before. I asked her what type of backpack she wanted this morning and she told me "purple and blue like the Yankees". Seriously, doesn't this kid know she's a born and bred New Englander? (side note: we really don't follow any sports teams.)

And then, of course, 7:30 this morning, Meenie informs me she can't find any pants to wear to school. She got stuff on one pair the day before which no biggie, after all, we have at least two pairs of dress pants for school. Only I cannot find the second pair anywhere. So I had to hurry up and wash and dry her pants for school. I'm sure they were probably still damp since it takes forever! But whatever, they made it to school on time and in pants.

But, I refuse to let the horrible no good nasty morning get to me. I'm drinking my latte and regrouping. And then I'm going to have a good day.

And since I totally missed out on delurking day because, well because, *insert some lame as excuse here*, your job is to delurk and tell me something. It can be your favorite sports affiliation, where you get your favorite latte's (or any coffee) - I prefer Baker's Dozen (local place) over any of the big chain's, or what you do to de-stress. Tell me anything, just leave a comment :)

New Years Resolutions

We don't typically make New Year's Resolutions, but this year I put forth the question to the family. What do you want to accomplish this year?

Me: I want to reconnect face to face with some old friends who I haven't had the time to see in awhile sans kids. For starters, I've already made tentative plans for coffee with an old friend this week while our kids are in school.

I also want to try and work more. I haven't had many hours subbing picked up yet this year. I don't know if I'm checking at the wrong time or what. It's hard for me to plan ahead (making arrangements for before/after school, packing lunches, getting kids up and ready, etc) if I don't know in advance whether or not they need me. Already this year, I do have plans to work Monday or Tuesday. If I can't pick up more hours, I've already started looking for a real job. One that I need to go to everyday. Problem is, I don't know what I want to do and feel like I have no marketable value :(

Husband: His plan is easy. he wants to survive school. And letterbox more. Last year was an excellent year picking up over 281 boxes since April. He also wants to find at least one box per winter month, something we haven't done before.

Einey: Plain and simple, she wants to visit Maine. She's been obsessed with it since the Husband and I took our little kid free getaway in September. It's probably good that we didn't fly to Hawaii or something :D We have tentative plans to go camping in Maine in August for a letterboxing event. Hopefully the timing will work out with Husband's classes.

Meenie: Wants to learn how to ride a two wheeler. She'll be the first if she can. She was getting close this summer, but we don't have a good bike riding driveway. Einey has no interest at all.

Moe: Wants to learn how to play Guitar Hero.

That's ours, what are yours?
